Audi e-Tron

According to a recent report, Audi has killed the highly-anticipated R4.
While nothing is official, Auto Motor and Sport says the model was axed because it would steal sales from the Audi TT and Porsche Boxster / Cayman. Furthermore, the Volkswagen Bluesport variant would likely have been too expensive to be competitive.

In related news, the Audi A2 revival has reportedly been delayed until 2016. Details are limited, but Volkswagen wants the car to be built on a group platform instead of a bespoke chassis.

Audi A5 leans into corners like a motorcycle

all the April Fools-related automotive items that the Internet served up for 2011. We thought we had 'em all... but we may have just found one more to add to the list, courtesy of Spanish-language site Cochesafondo.com.
It reports that Audi is working on a suspension system that allows a car to lean into a turn. It's installed the setup into an A5, prompting a pair of engineers to bring a very stable cup of coffee along for a test ride. Of course, one bump and your lap would be pain soup regardless of the suspension being tested.Click past the jump to watch the clip. Detroit has lost an average of 65 people a day

If you take recent media messaging—especially that from the auto industry—at face value, Detroit has been undergoing a resurgence.

While that's easy to see in the industry, in stronger, better-rated, better-received product lines from General Motors and Ford—and the winds of change at Chrysler—it's harder to say that about the city itself. Or by Detroit's numbers, which still say that it's a dying—or, to be kind, rapidly shrinking—city.

According to final census figures just released, Detroit has lost an average of 65 people a day, over the past ten years. That's close to a quarter of a million people since 2000.
